Khaled Sasa
I am a leading community advocate, researcher, and journalist based in Mississauga, committed to building thriving, safer, resilient, and stronger communities.
As a Muslim & third-generation Palestinian refugee, I was born stateless and immigrated to Turtle Island when I was 4. My experience with Islamophobia, Queerphobia, and anti-Palestinian racism led me to become a leading advocate against these intersecting forces of oppression.
My work spans public policy, media, and community engagement, with experience supporting vulnerable populations and contributing to international development initiatives, including with the United Nations. With a background in biology and globalization, and ongoing training in journalism, I approach complex issues through both analytical and human-centred perspectives.
Thanks to being multilingual — fluent in English, French, and Arabic — and having grown up in a diverse community, I am able to better understand people from different backgrounds and perspectives and am committed to equity, inclusion, and meaningful representation. My lived experiences inform my work as my focus remains on delivering proven community-driven solutions that uplifts our society.
